Automatic Flood Warning SystemFor the protection of life and property in areas that are subject to flooding from rivers or tidal estuaries.A 24/7 automatic Flood warning system, that responds within minutes to the current Flood warning status issued by the Environment Agency (EA). The local postcode area is used to establish the specific flood status issued by the EA. Flood warning systems for areas prone to flooding can address Insurers demands for levels of flood risk management, and there are legal implications, as effective warnings may soon become a "human right". With the anticipated effects of climate change, there is the possibility of increased frequency and severity of flooding. The system includes local and remote manual override facilities, to allow supervisory intervention to reflect local conditions. Users have total confidence in the continued operability of the signs, because each sign provides detailed remote status monitoring. The remote status monitoring also reduces maintenance costs by minimizing site visits, and removes the need for regular checks by skilled personnel. The monitoring of the sign status is available using SMS messages to specified mobiles, or via a licence free user-friendly graphics program. |

Individual signs are equipped with an automatic battery charger and eco friendly Nickel-Metal Hydride cells, these provide 24+hours uninterrupted operation during a Mains failure. The system is a scalable solution from a single unit, to systems of 200+ signs. Installation is cost effective , using either daisy chain twisted pair cable or Low Power radio to connect units. High efficient and ultra reliable LED’s illuminate the sign elements. Specialized power electronics maintain consistent light output and provides age compensation. The signs graphics can be bespoke to reflect unique local requirements. |

General SpecificationEach sign is equipped with a universal 40-Watt mains power supply. A high specification, noise filter protects each sign from external mains born interference. An internal automatic charger on each sign maintains a 4 Amp/hour Nickel Hydride that gives at least 24-hour continuous operation without mains. The enclosures are 400mm Wide, 540mm high, and 85mm (130mm including sounder) Deep. The signs are bulkhead mounting using four No. 8 screws, through four lugs, with each lug optionally arranged as either horizontal or vertical. The total weight of the sign enclosure is 7 Kg (and the Master 10.3Kg). The enclosure standard finish has an IP65 rating with is a quality white semi-gloss powder coat, other colours are available. The enclosures are suitable for mounting in covered entry and exit ways. If required the enclosures can be engineered with a higher IP67 rating and with an increased light output. LED’s (Light Emitting Diodes)Each sign is composed of four sections, which are individually backlit, by separate light boxes. Each light box is equipped with LED’s, providing a total output of 265 lumens per light box. The LED’s are high efficiency ‘cold white’ with a colour temperature of 5000-7000 Kelvin. The LED’s are rated for 30,000 hours of continuous operation. SounderA high output sounder is provided with two distinct tones for the two top levels of warning, each sounder delivers up to 111dB(A). The sounders are designed for signalling in open areas or corridors and passages. 32 alarm tones are available, which are compatible with the majority of internationally recognized signalling tones. The tones are factory selectable, and are set with default settings for the two sounder alarm levels, the client can optionally select from the full 32 tones. Installation- flexible and efficientEach sign requires a standard low power mains supply. A single sign uses an internal mobile phone radio, which requires a small antenna; this radio provides the remote access. Multiple signs operate from a master unit, which offers a single remote connection via either broadband or mobile phone. The individual signs on a multi-sign system are connected to the master by either low cost twisted pair RS485 cable, or Low Power (LP) Radio, which ever technology is the most convenient. |
